Understanding Insect Behaviour Through Flight Trajectories
About me:
If you find an animal using legs to get around, chances are, it has about six of them. If that creature then takes off and flies through the air, it’s an insect. The evolution of flight in insects was a paradigm shift in the functioning of early terrestrial ecosystems, and defines many that we see today. Everyday insects perform extreme athletic feats that far exceed both our expectations and modern fighter-jets. My key interest is in working out what insects are up to in the air, and how they know where they’re going.
